Using Microsoft Edge is nothing new that you can print web pages to paper or to a PDF file, but until now, the browser printed everything on the page, including extra elements and advertisements.

However, starting with Windows 10 April 2018 Update (version 1803), similar to other browsers, the new version of Microsoft Edge includes an option that removes all the distractions for a clutter-free printing experience.

In this guide, you’ll learn the steps to use Microsoft Edge Clutter-free printing option to print only the content without clutter.

How to print web pages without clutter using Microsoft Edge

To print web pages without distractions using Microsoft Edge, do the following:

  • Open Microsoft Edge.
  • Navigate to the web page you want to print.
  • Click the main menu (three-dot) button in the top-right corner.
  • Click the Print option.
  • Quick Tip: You can always use the Ctrl + P keyboard shortcut to access the print experience directly.
  • In the “Printer” options, use the Clutter-free printing drop-down menu and select On.

Once you’ve completed the steps, Microsoft Edge will print a clean version of the web page without any clutter, including advertisements that may just waste the printer’s ink.

Open Microsoft Edge.

Navigate to the web page you want to print.

Click the main menu (three-dot) button in the top-right corner.

Click the Print option.

In the “Printer” options, use the Clutter-free printing drop-down menu and select On.

The only caveat about this feature is that it doesn’t work with every website on the internet by design.

If the option isn’t available on Microsoft Edge, it’s likely because you’re not running Windows 10 version 1803 (April 2018 Update) or later. Dubbed Redstone 4, the next major release of Windows 10 is expected to become available on April 30, 2018.
