On Windows 10, if you use the Chromium version of Microsoft Edge, you can reset your settings at any time. You may need to do this if you are experiencing problems, errors or an extension or app modified the settings without your permission and you want to revert to the preferred settings.
Whatever the reason it might be, the default web browser for Windows 10, includes at least one way to reset settings to the defaults using an option available with Microsoft Edge settings page.
In this guide, you’ll learn the steps to reset the settings to their default values on the new Microsoft Edge for Windows 10.
Reset settings to default values on Microsoft Edge
To delete and restore the default settings values on Microsoft Edge, use these steps:
- Open Microsoft Edge.
- Click the Settings and More (ellipsis) button on the top-right corner.
- Select the Settings option.
- Click on Reset settings.
- Reset settings page
- Click the Restore settings to their default values option.
- Microsoft Edge reset settings option
- Click the Reset button.
Once you complete the steps, the browser will reset the startup page, new tab page, search engine, and pinned tabs. In addition, this action will disable all your extensions and clear the browsing data. However, your favorites, history, and passwords will not be deleted. If you need to delete this data as well, you’ll need to do it from the Profiles page and deleting your current profile. Also, other settings available in appearance, downloads, system, and other pages won’t reset to default.
