You’ve owned your Android for presumably quite a long time now. And during that period of time, you probably have connected to numerous WiFi networks. Some might be from your work, some from the cafe you always go to and a couple might be from your home network as you might have a habit of changing the SSID and password of your home network frequently (a good habit nevertheless).
All those networks’ names and passwords are stored by your Android for easy future access. But the problem arises when you want to see the password for maybe connecting your second device to the same network, or maybe you want to share the password with a friend of yours. It is more annoying when you have a long and secure password consisting of characters, numbers, and alphabets. Whatever your case may be, here’s how to see wifi passwords of all connected WiFi networks saved on your Android device.
View WiFi passwords of connected networks on Android
See passwords of all connected WiFi networks using an app
To get started, install WiFi Password Viewer from the Google Play Store. It is a free app and you need to have root access for it to work. Once it’s installed, open it and grant superuser permission when prompted. This is required so that the app can read the file on your system partition that contains all the saved WiFi passwords. Tap OK and the app will display all the passwords for all the networks your device has been connected to. If you only want to see the passwords then you’re all set, but if you want to share the password, read further.
Sharing a password is easy. All you need to do is tap on an entry and you will get options to either save it on your clipboard or share it using Bluetooth or other apps capable of sharing. You can also use the QR code to share the password. Any QR code scanning app can be used to view the password.
This is it. This is the solution to the problem you never knew you had.
