How to Set Up a Google Nest Hub

To set up your Google Nest Hub, you must use the Google Home app on your mobile device:

  • Connect the power supply to your Google Nest Hub and plug it in. The Hub will turn on automatically.
  • Download the Google Home app for Android or the Google Home app for iOS if it’s not already installed on your mobile device.
  • On your mobile device, open the Google Home app and tap the Plus (+) in the upper-left corner of the Home screen.
  • Tap Set Up Device.
  • Tap New device.
  • Choose a home for your device and tap Next. The app will look for nearby compatible devices.
  • You can add homes in the Google Home app if you want to control smart devices in different locations with your Google Home app.
  • Tap Yes when the app detects your Nest Hub.
  • If the app doesn’t detect your Nest Hub automatically, make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and move closer to the Hub, then close the Google Home app and reopen it.
  • A code will appear in the Google Home app and on your Nest Hub. Make sure the codes match, then tap Next in the app.
  • Read the terms of service and tap I agree.
  • The app will ask if you want to share your device stats and crash reports to help improve the Nest Hub experience for all users. Tap Yes, I’m in or No thanks.
  • Your choice will not affect your personal Nest Hub experience in any way. Google only uses the information to correct bugs and make general improvements.
  • Choose a room for your Nest Hub and tap Next.
  • Select your Wi-Fi network and tap Next.
  • Your mobile device and your Nest Hub must be connected to the same network. If you’re connected to the internet through your data plan, disable it and connect to Wi-Fi.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to finish personalizing your Nest Hub. You’ll also have the option to configure these settings at a later time. After reviewing your device settings, your Nest Hub will be set up.

Personalize Your Google Nest Hub

To customize your Nest Hub, open the Google Home app on your mobile device, select your Google Nest Hub, then tap the Settings gear. From this screen, you can configure call settings and customize the display. You can also link your Nest Hub to Disney Plus, Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming services.

Connect the power supply to your Google Nest Hub and plug it in. The Hub will turn on automatically.
